A few of my friends are continuing on the never-ending quest for more knowledge, acquiring funding for D.Phils, or even planning on taking a doctorate at the other place. While I was still at university it scared me to think that one day I shall have to face the harsh realities of real life, as who doesn't want to be a student without responsibility forever more?

But here I am now in good ol' Hong Kong. And guess what I am doing now? I now work for the World's Best Financial Services Provider! To be precise, I work at the Trade Services Department at 1 Queen's Road Central. We are a global bank with local expertise. We will also be providing online banking services soon so why don't you come to our Hong Kong webpage and check it out for yourself?

Before I started work here in Hong Kong, however, I had the pleasure of having my training at Bricket Wood, the Group Training College.

And what do I now do in my spare time now, you wonder. Well I don't read the Financial Times nearly as often as I did at university (and thank GOD for that huh) although I DO dabble in the equities market a teeny bit. There is a great site for Hong Kong markets info in case you haven't found it yet, it's called Quamnet. It provides real time Stock updates. Thinking about money all the time could be tiring too but you know what? There are some GREAT bars and places near where I work so it's ideal to go and sink a pint or two with friends after work! Check out this Lan Kwai Fong site!

I no longer go rowing or play rugby anymore. To psyche myself up before work and to make an attempt at staying less wobbly than I now am I go to the Healthy Club at Island Shangri-La every day. It's pretty good there. Have a look at the Shangri-La website and see what you think.
